Get this and maybe you can cast a spell on Avril to make her rock. posted by basmati at 12:18 AM on January 30, 2003
The newspaper shown has an article about Avril’s Home Hardware t-shirt. Wearing that shirt is the only cool thing she’s ever done. Especially since it means stock-boys can make some extra cash selling similar shirts on eBay. posted by Gary at 12:27 AM on January 30, 2003
Hey, look, it's Fark day at Metafilter! posted by syzygy at 12:43 AM on January 30, 2003

Who is this person? And why are her rocks so cheap? posted by hama7 at 1:34 AM on January 30, 2003
Don't be fooled by the rocks that he's got. He's still, he's still MiG from the block. posted by RubiX^3 at 1:42 AM on January 30, 2003
I don't even know what a "fark" is.
I'd buy Avril rocks. Avril anything. Legend. posted by ed\26h at 2:35 AM on January 30, 2003
New tagline

I'd hit it.
The only reasons these auctions exist is because there are kids out there believing any connection with a rock star makes them cool.
Even someone who ironically is marketed to be not like all the other marketed pop idols. posted by sebas at 4:30 AM on January 30, 2003
Thanks, hama7, for saving me the trouble of asking. I saw the name Avril Lavigne on the eBay page and immediately said to myself, "Who's he?" posted by LeLiLo at 6:55 AM on January 30, 2003
He was a sk8er boi. posted by wackybrit at 7:07 AM on January 30, 2003
From my understanding, Avril Lavigne is the "bad girl" version of Britney Spears.
Save some money, sweetie, it's a short ride. posted by bondcliff at 7:10 AM on January 30, 2003
This would actually be funny if the person implicated was known. For example, rocks from ParisParamus' home town, or MH's or Saddam Hussein, or, well just about anyone but this chick April. posted by ParisParamus at 7:28 AM on January 30, 2003
Have you guys seen the site dedicated to unearthing these ebay comedy moments? It's amazing how often Who Would Buy That is updated. posted by Pinwheel at 7:37 AM on January 30, 2003
Thanks to Google I'm now much better informed. Avril.
I found out she's never even been on tour yet, but her upcoming trip will be called the 'Try To Shut Me Up Tour 2003.' There's another great tagline for this bunch: MetaFilter: Try To Shut Me Up."
I also found out that she's got an on-line journal, and she's very deep. Sample from the first entry: I've been starting to realize how special fans are lately. I get approached quite often now and am realizing that people do care, and people do want to hear from me. Sweet. I like writing and expressing myself, so this should be fun.
Right now I’m sitting in the Pittsburgh airport. I just finished eating a McDonalds crispy chicken sandwich,… I feel sick. Now a days it feels like half of my life is spent on airplanes and in airports ……..BORING!!! I’m going to Norfolk , VA for some radio promotion. Then I’m off to NYC for a couple of days. posted by LeLiLo at 8:00 AM on January 30, 2003
It's amazing what having a 10 year old daughter can do for your knowledge of the current kiddy pop scene. *sigh* posted by Plunge at 10:42 AM on January 30, 2003
I only assumed this person was female because eons ago I learned that 'April' was a girl's name in France, and everywhere else on the fricking planet. Oh the wasted years. posted by hama7 at 9:18 AM on January 31, 2003
