The newspaper shown has an article about Avril’s Home Hardware t-shirt. Wearing that shirt is the only cool thing she’s ever done. Especially since it means stock-boys can make some extra cash selling similar shirts on eBay.

I'd hit it.

The only reasons these auctions exist is because there are kids out there believing any connection with a rock star makes them cool.

Even someone who ironically is marketed to be not like all the other marketed pop idols.

Thanks to Google I'm now much better informed. Avril.

I found out she's never even been on tour yet, but her upcoming trip will be called the 'Try To Shut Me Up Tour 2003.' There's another great tagline for this bunch: MetaFilter: Try To Shut Me Up."

I also found out that she's got an on-line journal, and she's very deep. Sample from the first entry: I've been starting to realize how special fans are lately. I get approached quite often now and am realizing that people do care, and people do want to hear from me. Sweet. I like writing and expressing myself, so this should be fun.

Right now I’m sitting in the Pittsburgh airport. I just finished eating a McDonalds crispy chicken sandwich,… I feel sick. Now a days it feels like half of my life is spent on airplanes and in airports ……..BORING!!! I’m going to Norfolk , VA for some radio promotion. Then I’m off to NYC for a couple of days.

I only assumed this person was female because eons ago I learned that 'April' was a girl's name in France, and everywhere else on the fricking planet. Oh the wasted years.
