Heh. I know someone who was hit up to invest in the puppy channel back in the day, and he showed me the pilot that they watch in the TAL show. That song ("Puppies puppies puppies puppies puppies puppies puppies puppies PUPPIES!!"") has been burned in my brain ever since.

In fact, you rarely see people, other than an occasional visit by a little child, or a heartwarming visit to a senior citizen.

For the first year or two, sure, it will be all puppies. But after that it will be impossible to find a puppy at all. The channel will only air shows about puppies, shows about "Real puppies asked to live together in the real world," exposes on outrageous puppy houses, and vapid celebrity puppy interviews.

Don't even try to imagine what the awards shows are going to be like.

My girlfriend and I heard this report on Saturday's This American Life (she's obsessed, I think she's sleeping with Ira Glass, at least I know she would). Ever since that song has monopolized my brain functions, its EVIL! Someone help me!

In three tests across the U.S., people have said they want The Puppy Channel on TV. Many say they would like it better than what's on TV now.

i don't doubt this at all, i strongly suspect that if i was flipping through the news it would go something like this:

war [click], war [click], failing economy [click], celebrity news [pause... click], war [click], OHHH PUPPIES [tosses remote as it will never be needed again.]
