Hey kids, it's a MeFi stale meme handle pile-on! Who like vibrating pancakes? I like vibrating pancakes. posted by MrBaliHai at 6:13 AM on March 27, 2003
well this has a slightly different spin, but it's a shaky thread nonetheless. posted by madamjujujive at 6:14 AM on March 27, 2003
I have no idea how these people got their memes wedged into their comments, or why. posted by Pretty_Generic at 6:15 AM on March 27, 2003

Maybe it's in the date, Joshua Allen, 11 September 2002. OG would you like to go back in time, to a time when this post was our biggest nuisance(s)? posted by thomcatspike at 6:21 AM on March 27, 2003

Is this thread something you need mock cleaning implements to understand? Because I do not have any mock cleaning implements.

OG: You are guilty of a far more serious crime. Ellipses (...) have only 3 dots and you used 4.

(1) piece posted
(2) piece posted/referred to so many times it becomes annoying meme
(3) annoyance at meme becomes in-joke, cultural community signal
(4) origin of in-joke lost to the mists of time, in-joke continues
(5) suddenly, a nifty piece connected to in-joke is discovered?
Just speculation. posted by namespan at 8:12 AM on March 27, 2003

Actually, I learned once that four dots in an ellipses works if you're ending a complete sentence and three is good if it's a sentence fragment. But many grammar 'rules' are still debated hotly in some circles... where they don't have vibrating brooms probably....
