Journey to Nepal

Cheers, monju_bosatsu - this brought back memories - I stayed in the Durbar square in Bhaktapur a while back, inbetween visits to India. Bhaktapur is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (I think), a very interesting place. It's short bus ride from Kathmandu, and in contrast to the huge and polluted growth of Kathmandu, has been the focus of conservation efforts. They have banned cars from a lot of the town, and kept the original street pattern and architecture; see for instance the Bhaktapur Development Project.

Thanks for the post. I am visiting North India this winter and may be able to squeeze in Nepal as well.
