Givelists instead of wishlists

Present Perfect. Do you have everything? Do your friends and family complain that you're hard to buy for? Feel awkward about wishlists? WhatGoesAround.org is for you. Instead of a wishlist, you create a "givelist"--a list of your favorite charities, so your friends and family can give the gift of, well, giving.

Lovely idea. I hope it catches on. Thanks, frykitty!

That's a fantastic idea that I'm surprised hasn't come up years earlier.

Wow, that is a fabulous idea, I wish I'd known about it before, but I'm glad to know about it now. :)

Not to pat ourselves on the back, but my wife and I did something similar for our wedding. We didn't want people to feel they had to give gifts, so we set up a web page with a variety of charities whose causes we support and asked people to donate *if* they felt the need to give us something. We even included direct links so folks could give online if they chose.

My brother and his wife did the same, 10 years ago. I don't think PayPal was around then!

That is pretty cool.

Man, I thought this thread was about grammar.

Let me get this straight -- someone ELSE gets the gift? This whole 'charity' thing seems a little shady...
