European Mars Express probe confirms water ice on Mars

Those European scientists had better milk that probe for data while they can.

The Martians don't like to have us poking around so much.

They got the Beagle's lander, now they've sabatoged the "Spirit" as well, I see. Next on the list.......

They simply will not allow us to discover the hidden secret of the Face on Mars, and it's connection to the Sphinx.

/ wild eyed conspiracy rant

Obviously the water ice on Mars is strawberry flavour. As is the entire planet (and not tomato flavour as the conspiracy nuts will tell you.)

water ice is like saying gravy fat.

We may only have one naturally occurring type of ice on Earth, but other planets have ammonia ice and carbon dioxide (dry) ice, so it's significant that this is water ice.

As much as the Europeans should be given credit for a discovery, we already knew there is water ice on Mars, this confirms it exists in the south as well as north.

I dunno; looks like they could use the Jingo defense. Does it count if it's the Yurpeens that found it?

I'm right there with you, stupidsexyFlanders. I hope it's cherry flavored!

That's just groovy that we're getting chemical analysis though...I just wish 50's science fiction had come true. I want to live on another planet and zoom around in a starspeed convertible.

Actually, it's not. Those polar caps on Mars - which look so much like water ice - are actually carbon dioxide ice, I think.
