Someone doesn't grasp the concept...
I remember when I first learned about semiotics in the early '80s, I learned from this rather odd Prof who insisted on building all his conceptual frameworks as nested triangles that started with a dichotomy; the third point of the triangle was the synthesis of the dichotomy.
