It is well-executed. It feels like a nice, simple shell on top of Flash - like a cool demo for Flash.
If I could make a feature wish, I'd like them to add the time dimension and turn it into a very simple animation tool. Once you've mashed up the type like that, the letters just beg to dance.
Also see Nikita Pashenkov's Alphabot. Check out the screenshots and the videos. I imagine Nelson has seen this before - it's from ACG. posted by shortfuse at 4:40 PM on March 7, 2005
Forgot to note: the Alphabot link was primarily for Robot Johnny. It's what I thought of when you said "robots + typography". posted by shortfuse at 4:43 PM on March 7, 2005

billpena - What's in Barcelona that's related to this post? I was half-planning to attend this year's Sonar if the lineup were good. I'm curious if there's anything to see in Barcelona that relates to type experiments. Museums? Libraries? posted by shortfuse at 5:19 PM on March 7, 2005

Wow! If only I had this during last semester's graphic design course. Our assignment was to create a black/white graphic with letterforms. Must make note to alert future students of that course. Some of these designs are insanely well-constructed. posted by superfem at 10:50 PM on March 7, 2005
