Every audio recording in the catalog can be heard in samples of forty seconds to two minutes.

Good find, but does the above quote this mean they are not full versions?

Don't forget that you can access some of John and Ruby Lomax's recordings & notes at the Library of Congress American Memory site.

If it means more stuff like Tangle Eye or Now There Is A Tree Of Ghosts, I'm all for it.

"Why are free full-length audio downloads unavailable on this site? We are exploring ways to offer full-length versions as downloads, but download fees would be necessary. For now, songs that have been issued by Rounder Records are available though commercial download services." [link]

Just fyi.

This is anyway huge. Great great link.

Even 30s clips of all these recordings is just amazing. I just wished there was a way to get the complete versions

a) cheaper
- 1E/song is waaaaaay too much for archive stuf
b) better quality
- I'd like my "bought" files without DRM and 44/16 thankyou.

Alan Lomax is a perfect example how one man can make a difference. Thank you liam.

Check out Prison Songs. Some of the most amazing filed recordings ever made.
