Ogopogo is Canada's most famous water monster. This bashful monster (Win Media clip) resides in British Columbia's Lake Okanagan and recorded sightings date back as far as 1872. If you're thinking about heading out to Lake Okanagan to try and catch a glimpse (Windows Media clip) of Ogopogo for yourself, remember these helpful tips.

Those guys commenting ("That's not a wave!") at the end of the glimpse clip sound like such hosers.

Diggin' Noel's sunglasses.

And did that news anchorwoman say something about the Scotsman being "stone cold sober"? Not sure if you could get away with such a comment today.

This is pretty entertaining too.

Just the word "ogopogo" itself is cool. So many o's, so few scrabble games to abuse...

The Loch Ness museum near Inverness is a hoot as well, they pretty much lay it out that it doesn't exist then say maybe at the very end. Classic. I recommend going on the boat trip, that was well worth it.

That IS a wave. I swear that what i saw in that glimpse was a wave, and no cynical, shouting hoser non-believers
can make me change my mind.

Last week, Japanese scientists explaced- placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Okanagan to blow Ogopogo out of the water. Bill Steciuk of the Ogopogo Alliance summoned the help of British Columbia's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

Sure as hell they better not have placed explosives. We got endangered salmon in these waters. Grrrr.

I saw Ogopogo once. I was riding the twisties on Westside Road. Startled hell outta me.

But it could have been ducks or waves or something else...
