Great. Now can someone do a hunt through all these easter eggs to find me the 5 or 6 that are actually interesting? To the non-obsessed, I mean.

The Millenium Falcon cameo, for instance, that's kind of cool. And the kitchen sink thing, nice.

Expanded universe fans may have had their ears perk up when Obi-Wan gives the single-sentence summary of the Jedi briefing Anakin just missed. He mentions that Master Vos has moved his troops to Boz Pity. That is indeed a reference to Quinlan Vos, who was almost slated to appear in Episode III.

gurple, you don't find this fascinating?

The visual easter eggs are fun, but I enjoy the repeated motifs even more. Every scene of Revenge of the Sith refers to the other five movies in some way; it's dense with allusions: "This is where the fun begins," the way the Emperor kneels down next to Anakin vs the way Obi-Wan kneels down next to Luke, the bridge on Mustafar vs the corridor on Endor etc. etc. At TheForce.net, you can dig for more, or discuss the influence of Mark Rothko and 1930s horror movies on the film.

What I found interesting/disturbing was how there's all this whizbang-looking technology everywhere throughout Ep. III - multipaneled viewscreens up the wazoo, modern-looking blinky things, etc - and then at the end during the creation of Darth Vader it all reverts back to 70s era original Star Wars cruft with huge buttons, neon-lamped switches, and knobs the size of your head.

Y'know, the prequel films would have probably looked better to those of us old enough to see the originals in the theater if he just stuck with the original theme of "well used" space. But then I guess there would be a bunch of kids today wondering why everything looked like it was from a museum or scrapyard.

Also, if you grumble "Fiiiire. BAAAAAD!" during the end scene where Vader breaks loose from the straps holding him to the table after being rebuilt, it works perfectly. I couldn't resist saying that in the theater last weekend, and thankfully everyone who heard me laughed and didn't choose to kick my ass. /mst3k

In my opinion, the best Star Wars easter egg is still the .44 Magnum sound from Dirty Harry mixed into the sound of Princess Leia's blaster.

Next time somebody posts a thread that refers to an interest I don't share, remind me to post about how I'm not interested in the subject and think that anyone who is is a sad obsessive.

'Cuz, that's not the kind of thing I'd usually do, but apparently you really should.

My fiance spotted Mon Mothma's name during the credits, so we racked our brains to figure out where she was. Turns out she was one of the senators, like I theorized. Pretty cool...

I am interested in this, but damn....I just expected some cooler eggs. Like the E.T. shot in the first movie. That was cool.

There's a nod to E.T. when Yoda leaves Kashyyyk... and a shot cribbed from 2001 near the end, on Polis Massa.

I'm sure you're very witty and all, but people didn't show up to hear you mock a very mockable movie. If you can't control yourself in public then you should consider staying home and saving us all the pain of listening to your "jokes".
