I can vouch that the 'History of 42 below' had a fine television life here in NZ - i can only hope they show the British version in Blighty

Now I know why Tin Tin has been pushing so hard to stop gay marriage.

odd. the official vodka of b3ta.com?

not sure how i feel about blatant racist/gay/nationality jokes used in advertising, tho it kinda works, like when you sit around with a bunch diverse group and tell good-natured dirty racial jokes.

Another First For MetaChat! We were there a week ago. And the monkeys were there before that.
no recriminations though, you can't be expected to check multiple sites when posting

viral marketing, buzz generator or genuine post?

The History of 42 below did a great job of cheerfully and deliberately breaking all the NZ codes of conduct for liquor advertising.

Don't know whether to be offended or bored.

I haven't seen the ads, but I have drunk the vodka. Very nice with a sliver of lemon rind and the tiniest hint of dry vermouth. Shaken or stirred.

They're all the same, really.

the vodka is really quite good. i've drunk far too much of it on a few occasions, and i'd recommend it.

and the ads, seen for the first time, made me laugh - something to amuse/offend everyone.

no problems here.

I'm with NewBornHippy on this one: Vodka is simply ethanol and H2O, no matter what the brand. And that's why I like it.

Not the folks at Brite Bar in New York. Quite a dust-up between the President of 42Below and the bar owner.

One more reason to stick with Stoli. $21 for the big bottle at Greenblatt's Deli.

Having taken some considerable amount of time to sample various vodkas, I can say with some authority that not all vodkas are the same. Most Vodkas, even the premium brands, are compromised by a lack of smoothness and/or a chemical aftertaste. I tried Stoli, Ketel One, Absolut, Grey Goose, and Belvedere (of these, Belvedere was superior). However they were all outdone by a very reasonably priced brand called Priviet, which sells for @ $16 for a .750 bottle (compared to $25-35 for smaller quantities in the premium brands). Priviet is smooth, sweet, and usually devoid of a nasty aftertaste.
