FINALLY I can thank Abdullah the Butcher (1000 S. Industrial Blvd., Dallas, TX 75207) for the lovely vase he sent me last year.

at first glance, i thought it said 'Contract' and i wondered if this was some kind of mutated flu.

Would you like to raise
the price to $100 now, or pay it as a tip at the end of our
transaction?

Can you also tell me how to hang around with, talk like, look like and bang celebrities? If so, RAISE NOW!

I think its sad that the Judd's no longer share the same address.

And sorry but any celebrity list that doesn't include Brittany Daniels is of no use to me. And no Peta Wilson, either? What kind of a sick joke is this "list"? Why is Rodney Dangerfield still listed? I was under the impression he wasn't reading his mail anymore.

Its also good to note that its not just people on that list, its also group, like bands (I see AC/DC and U2 in there).

I usually just follow them around, waiting for the right moment to catch them alone and have a nice chat. As you may know, most celebrities are slightly deaf because of all the cocaine they've been putting in their ears so it's a good idea to shout.

"HOW ARE YOU MADONNA? YOUR HAIR IS PRETTY. HOW MANY GUNS DO YOU OWN I HAVE FIVE."

Skimming the list, I noticed a dearth of authors, screenwriters, and directors (unless also actors). Why would one want to correspond with actors to such a degree of preferrence, over people who make their trade by writing? Maybe I just don't get it.

A bit out of date, I guess.

A good portion of the associated addresses are actually CAA's (9830 Wilshire Blvd.).

Peter Jennings
Fay Wray
Luther Vandross
Dean Martin
Jack Lemmon

...and I'm sure many others

Bill Clinton is listed as 1600 Penn. Ave. so I'd say it's a little dated.

omg, the Ace of Base is totally getting a happy birthday card from me this year

Montreal Expos
P.O. Box 500 Station M
Montreal Quebec Canada
H1V 3P2

Also not answering mail anymore...

Judging by the dead and otherwise unavailable entries on this list, I'm guessing it's about 10 years out of date.

Funny, I always thought A-Ha were from Norway (or another Scandinavian country).

There was a great autograph collecting site back in the day where people actually tested addresses like these and reported back. I'm sure this list is stolen from one such site.

pardonyou, what are you trying to say about Luther Vandross?

*sigh*
No address for Sarah Vowell.
My search continues...

Anniston Jennifer 5750 Wiltshire Boulevard Suite 580 Los Angeles, CA 90036

Where is this Wiltshire Boulevard? I can't find it on my Thomas Guide.

clevershark: you remember well, they in fact were from Norway and moved to London.

A very updated list indeed...

Dudley Moore??
And what if I want to contact Peter Cook — do I have to wait for Dud to forward my mail?

A quick check with Google Maps shows various addresses are office buildings in office parks but anyoen spots any big mansions on the list let us know. Obvious direction to take this is combining with Google maps.

"In addition, there may be a few defunct entities or deceased celebrities mentioned here too. The reason for this is because, even though celebrities die or go out of business, their families or business associates often maintain some contact with the public because of the continued public interest in their work. The list is far too extensive to edit out the dead and defunct so if you run across one that you know is dead or is no longer in business just delete them or pass them up."

heh...Yes, and IIRC that address for Abdullah is the old Sportatorium. I doubt he hangs around there much anymore.

I'm told that "General Skandor Akbar" (also from that sterling era of rasslin') has a car dealership somewhere in the DFW area, however...

(Sigh.) No Lisa Loeb.
posted by Possum at 3:19 PM on October 13, 2005

Possum, darn, no Dweezil Zappa either, I figured you could just send your mail to him and he'd pass it along to her. Or are they no longer a couple now? They had some travel show together for a while, it was mildly interesting.

Henry Kissinger lives in the same building as Al Pacino. That would make for an interesting chat in the lift.

Deathalicious, you can send personal mail to Sarah Vowell through The Steven Barclay Agency, which represents her. Details here.

If you'd RTFT, you might've noticed someone had already posted that. Blind to deafmute, for shame.

I'm glad that "Star Trek Voyager" is reachable via snail mail.

The one person I know on that list has an incorrect (by several years, I think) address.

I wonder how many personal replies you'd get if you wrote to the top 100 or so of the most obscure or washed-up celebrities on the list.

bondcliff - maybe we could start with Adrienne Barbeau?

palinode (if you're still reading this), I was trying to say that he's dead.

Normally there would be privacy conerns if these were private individuals but because these are notable people and the fact that the addresses provided are already published and well known to the general public, they are a matter of public information.

Oh good grief, he can't be serious.

I maintain the official website for a regional celebrity (one of my best friends). Part of my tasks include going through fan mail - we have a Contact form on the site, as well as a guestbook, and a blog with comments. We both go through fan email, though she's usually busier than I am so I do the bulk of it.

Her private contact details (email, phone, address, etc) are kept highly confidential, not to be given out without her permission. It's her personal, private thing; she's already having enough trouble battling idiotic trolls who think that just because she's famous they have the right to hassle her any time of the day.

We get plenty of people asking for her contact details and we either do not respond or tell them it's confidential. And yet people persist. I've had people try to be my friend just so they could get closer to her. It's atrocious.

Just because she's in the public eye doesn't mean she doesn't have the right to privacy.
