Saw this on boingboing. As cool as this is, it won't reach its full potential 'till we can download great fan-made levels. posted by Eamon at 4:25 PM on October 20, 2005
Wow, that's really neat. I thought it was a ridiculous idea for an FPP, and then I clicked, and .. it is very cool. posted by blacklite at 4:30 PM on October 20, 2005
Holy crap this is awesome! My gf is playing SMW on my Gameboy Micro as we speak! Can't wait to put my own level on there and surprise her. posted by furtive at 4:34 PM on October 20, 2005
furtive: don't think you'll be able to create levels for a GBA SMW ("Super Mario Advance 2") -- it's a different rom, different processor, everything. There's no good SNES emulators for a GBA either. posted by neustile at 4:53 PM on October 20, 2005

This is nice and all, but it doesn't compare to the Super Mario World level editor that I already have... IN MY MIND! posted by soyjoy at 6:38 PM on October 20, 2005
Karubi's shoe on every level.
I did it all for Tanooki; Tanooki
So I could get Karubi's (shoe)

Easy there, andreaazure, don't sprain something. Note that you have to provide your own ROM. The level editor is useless without it. posted by odinsdream at 9:19 PM on October 20, 2005
Most notably, Super Demo World and Super Mario Odyssey.
damn... I was really hoping for Mario sailing all over the Mediterranean, winning favor/disdain with the Gods, to return to the suitor seeking Princess Peach. posted by thanatogenous at 11:31 PM on October 20, 2005

While its true there are no "good" (meaning 100% true) SNES emulators for GBA, they do exist. PocketSNES fills this role, and one of the games that does work very well is, wait for it, Super Mario World ;¬) posted by gren at 10:22 AM on October 21, 2005

Funny, I seem to own a cartidge copy of SMW from my preadolescence. But naturally, I'm a sociopathic douche for wanting to use the same game on a different machine. posted by Tlogmer at 11:57 AM on October 21, 2005
Yeah, somehow I doubt Miyamoto-sensei is seething with rage over this. posted by darukaru at 12:11 PM on October 21, 2005
