Looks like mah horse has left ...

Looks like mah horse has left ... From 1974, a 35 minute montage of Elvis’s on-stage banter, non-segues, non-sequiturs, bad jokes, requests for scarves, and whole lotta “Well…well…well”’s.
Good for a chuckle on an lazy Sunday. Reminds me of the amazing Venom bootleg 7" I have of nothing but mindless drunken English Metal between song banter. Anyone have that in MP3 floating around? It's hilarious.

And yet, Elvis is still so fucking cool.
In films, he's always presented as being such a downer, when, in documentary footage, he always seems like such a goofy cut up. The only film that seemed to get that right was the recent Johnny Cash biopic.
"That boy Elvis sure likies to talk about the poontang."

I too have this on vinyl. It is a treasure.
"We're gonna play one of my biggest records....but really uh, they were all about the same size..."
Happy Elvis' Birthday, everyone!
also: Rapidshare is lame.

Incidentally, this was chosen as the worst rock and roll record of all time by Guterman and O'Donnell

I think my favorite Elvis outtake would have to be the laughing version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight". (Incidentally, despite what the linked page says, I was told that what happened was after Elvis sang the line in question, a gentleman down front removed his toupee.)

That's correct. Hence the "do you gaze at your bald head and wish you had hair" line.
ryanshepard: thanks dude, you made my day.
Mine too...that's an amazing listen. Thanks!

And don't miss the only other album in the genre I am aware of:
Robert Pollard of Guided by Voices' Relaxation of the Asshole.
Sassy!
