So, why do we have anglicized names for (western) European cities, yet tie our tongues into knots insisting that other cities be referred to with the same pronounciation as in those countries?

Beijing..Peking..whatever we'll have to refer to it as next. Peking was just as good as Naples compared to Napoli.

I'm confused - Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II is in Milan, not Naples.

It's definitely in Naples and not Milan.
Although I think it's called Galleria Umberto I
