VIDEO: Port Deal - Bush Family Ties To United Arab Emirates The Bush Family and Administration Officials have alot of business ties to the Middle East (See Saudi Arabia and Poppa Bush. They do tons of business with The House Of Saud and most of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia). Are you wondering why Bush is threatening his first ever veto on any bill by congress to stop the deal when the American People and Republicans in Congress are against it?

This ports deal issue is stupid. It appears quite racist to disallow a business because it is run by Arabs. Oh! but we will jeopardize national security! you say. Sort of like how racial profiling on highways is supposed to catch (or is it harass?) darkskinned "criminals" I guess. I swear Lou Dobbs and O'Reilly are having a competition on who can be the bigger bigot. I guess capitalism isn't really all that cool when cameljockeys are buying up your country huh Lou? American corporations have been doing the same thing, although much worse in the Third World for years, often having little regard for human rights and leaving the environment in ruins. Of course the UAE company hasn't done anything similar to that yet so I stand by the ideal of innocent until proven guilty. I think for once in my life I will side with Bush on this due to the undertones of racism invoved in this issue. We talk about terrorism, but wasn't Tim McVeigh white?

I think this is a much better reason for the ports deal. I agree with j-urb, the reaction is ridiculous and racist, but Bush's defense fits into a much bigger picture.

Oh. Jeebus. How the issue is exploited is playing to an ignorant racist reaction - but it is NOT racist to be concerned that the UAE - closely tied to funding, banking and support of extremist and terrorist organizations - be allowed to control vital strategic assets.
Bush's argument that "a PRIVATE British company (P&O) did it before so it's ok for for a UAE government controlled company" is idiotic. Even IF P&O was majority controlled by the British government, Great Britain is NOT a major funder and money launderer for anti-western terrorists.
