iPhoneMania, Catch It When Steve Jobs answered his iPhone at this year's MacWorld, he ignited a frenzy months before the gizmo will even hit stores. Now sneakmove, who first presented the "diy: cut and fold paper iphone" is back with a contest that challenges musicians to make the best song they can using the a sample of the phone's distinctive ring.

Is this an attempt by Apples competitors to make everyone completely sick of that ring tone before the phone is even introduced?

I had iPhonemania once. But after my court mandated stay in a "restful environment", I've been feeling much better.

And I'm happy to say that there were no fatalities in my last outburst. The doctors tell me that I am making real progress.

Well, they did do a pretty good job of keeping the thing under wraps...

Isn;t that exactly the kind of thing that makes Apple freak the hell out?

(And not in a funky cool hipster getting down kind of way)

What I want to know is if it has a built-in breathalyzer and if you're too drunk to do it yourself it will automatically place a drunken phone call to your ex-girlfriend and synthesize you saying "what happened to us, baby? we were so good together" using samples of your voice from other conversations.

Really, a phone that capable should just be able to live your life for you and save you the trouble.

Are people going to be able to use arbitrary MP3 files as their ringtones? If so, I know what I'm going to be using...

I know what I'm going to be using...

Brillant. Totally brillant...

That is totally awesome. Would be more awesome if it loaded in Firefox.

By the way, I may be late on saying this, but a ringtone contest? A paper version of a cell phone? This post is crap.

I don't really give a crap about the phone. Those remixes were way better than I thought they were going to be. I'm something-approaching-impressed.
