Got some decents smiles from the post but really enjoyed the Anil Dash site, thanks danb. Fun new word for this cat macro pidgin, "cweeole". Interestng to get some background on the image macro thing and explore related sites. Macrochan has some hilarious pics. Big selection.

It'll be fun when there's a site to turn-the-webpage-into-lolcatspeak.

I have a problem.

I can't stop looking at cat macros. I subscribe to the livejournal cat_macro community, even though it's not very funny. I read every page on icanhascheezburger.com.

And now, I narrate the life of my cat in "tweeole." There's even a special voice for it.

I actually started (and quickly unsubscribed from) cat_photography because I was annoyed that so many lame cat photos were being posted to my favourite photo communities. It didn't work though. Nothing can stop the avalanche of cat photos on ten nets.

My favorites tend to be the "Invisible ------" ones, with some cat poised in mid-air. Although the cats with laser beams shooting out of their eyes are pretty good, 4chan hasn't really been into them for about a year or so.

There are many that should just disappear (like this one...) but it's really cool to see people's ideas built on and changed and turned into something new.

That's actually my favorite one. (Judge me not!)

Some pals, myself, and my wife are all loving the lolcats phenomenon right now. We even (I am almost embarrassed to admit) use the language style these cats "use." (e.g., "This pie has a flavor," at a restaurant; "Where mah bukkit?!"; "U gonna get reaped," when watching a preview of that awful-looking Hilary Swank horror-style film, etc)
