I should clarify:

This is exactly the kind of post I want to see on MetaFilter.

Well I don't know much about art, but I know what I... Yeah this is what I pay my five bucks for. Filter me the whole internet and bring me back the cool stuff that I don't even know to look for. The Lillian Bayley is really scary.

These are wonderful, esp. Dennis.

Seconding what Area Control said. I wouldn't know how to find great work like this.

Yeah, that's what Canton looks like.

Check out the Peepholes series (scroll down the smaller thumbnails).

Whew. Great post!

Always pleased to see the MD representing on the blue. And those Dennis paintings are great.

Is that a reference to a Frida Kahlo painting on the bus shelter in the last of the Lillian Bayley paintings? I know she painted a lot of parrots, but I don't recognize this one. Or is it faux-Frida?

Great post, fascinating work.

New American Paintings is a great institution. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd buy every issue. Barring that I do browse each one I can get my hands on. Good stuff!

Thanks for these links, finally got around to looking at them. I especially like the work Ms. Dennis is producing.
