That was one of their better store front displays. Great comic shop.

That's crying out for better pictures and more explanation.

Silver Snail is a comic shop in Toronto. Their store front window usually has cool displays, such as the muppets acting out the big battle scene from Lord of the Rings 2.

So disappointed when I realized this wasn't an actual movie.

There's a Silver Snail location in Ottawa, too, but no nifty displays like this.

The severed head of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew makes me sad. *sniff*

One link crappy, badly lit, photo blog without explanation?

One would think better lighting would be in order.

C'mon luminous, you know it's not easy being green.

As for the pics, a head-on panoramic shot would have been nice establishing setting and all that.

Here are the pictures I took of the display when it was up. It was last summer. The pictures I took aren't that great due to trying to shoot through the storefront glass. Also, I was shooting on a wet night so the glass had a nice foggy sheen to it. And since it was nighttime downtown there's some weird reflections from the parking lot across the street. But man what a cool window display.

I dropped by there yesterday and they've taken it down :-(

They took it down some time last year, if it makes you feel any better.

The pics by thecjm linked above are far better.

lol. So you pay $2.95 instead of $3.13?

Don't feel bad, luminous phenomena. It's only a movie. See, Jim Henson is over on the right, directing all the action. No Muppets were harmed.

Thank you for the supplement, thecjm. There's a lot shown in your shots that isn't in the FPP gallery, including Jim Henson, Pops and other members of the production crew down below, and Statler and Waldorf on a high (and oddly balcony-like) outcrop.

Oh, and Sweetums is Gandalf why, exactly?

I must have caught this at the end of its run because I had every intention of going back in better conditions. And when I did it was gone.

No, more like $2.95 instead of $3.95 or $4.50 or $4.95... they don't set the prices exactly according to the exchange rate.

And I buy mostly graphic novels, where it's often a savings of $10 or more.

The Muppets instantly make anything awesomer.
