I *heart* wildcard records.
I *heart* people who do fun things with wildcard records more than the wildcard records themselves. posted by Cat Pie Hurts at 6:26 AM on June 27, 2007

I'm glad this isn't you, chuckdarwin. Because the way he said hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii really squeeked me out. posted by miss lynnster at 8:59 AM on June 27, 2007
Awesome post, and awesome toy! This may, to my chagrin, but undoubtedly to the delight of youtube haters, obviate the need for music performance posts. But I made a sweet mandolin lesson video wall for myself, which will ease the pain.
also: yeah, miss lynnster, who on earth is that? I suppose I'm not supposed to wonder that aloud here, but I think I'd like to know. I mean, he did wear the metafilter tshirt...opens the door to questions in my mind. posted by kosem at 12:43 PM on June 27, 2007
This is sheer genius!
All right, thanks for making me spill my lunch on the table. The bonk on the head was too much for me to handle.

I don't think so. For example, you go to this site and "make a wall" for BLUES, and you get only a fraction of what's actually available at YouTube. And much of what you get is, well, questionable. Also, the way people here (ahem, cough*yours truly for example*cough) often put music performance posts together is in such a way as to offer some extra insight into stylistic connections, historical background of what's being presented, or any number of other factors that go beyond just a simple search for some performer's name or some genre. And many here , of course, know about stuff that many others don't: they post it here for those who never would've thought to search for it. That's of course why they put the "filter" after the "Meta". So, no, I don't think simple ease of searchability at theis Videowall site (and you've always been able to search on YouTube anyway) will in any way obviate the need for music posts. posted by flapjax at midnite at 5:32 PM on June 27, 2007
