Heh. I always thought this guy was too normal, too guy-next-door to be working in any corridor of power.

He's probably the ONLY one in politics who actually looks like he'd be fun to have a beer with.

I crashed his going-away party at The Guards in Georgetown in 2000. Danced with his interns and some hottie White House correspondent. I thought he was a pretty cool guy.

"How do you feel about being the first White House press secretary to ever miss Air Force One on a foreign trip?" And a strange phrase stuck in my head and I couldn’t lose it. A few weeks earlier, the President had been at a prayer breakfast, talking about his affair with Monica Lewinsky. And he said, "I’m really sorry for what I did. And I’m working very hard to make up for it, particularly to those I’ve hurt the most." So when I got the question of "How do you feel?" I said, "I’m really sorry for what I’ve done wrong. And I’m working hard to fix it, particularly for those who I’ve hurt the most." Mocking the President of the United States when you make a mistake isn’t always the best idea, but it was the first thing that came to my head and I said it.

He's not even using original material. Let's give credit where it's due: The real joker in the Clinton administration - and there were a lot of them - was Clinton himself.

Joe Lockhart was most recently seen acting as a shill for the telcos in the net neutrality debate.
