It's Turkey Time!(mp3) And this song is playing in my head, over and over...
Special Music by Special People is a program of the Chicago Park District for children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities (such as Down syndrome). Participants in the program use music - through performances, song writing and musicwriting - as creative and social outlets.
Why would you wanna make that song play in our heads over and over? You meanie beanie! posted by ZachsMind at 5:45 AM on November 22, 2007
Gobble gobble indeed. Psycho killers, that's what they are.
Eh, the song made me laugh - I bet they had a lot of fun making this. That arts program sounds like a great thing. Still, it's pretty hard to listen to unless maybe you are friends or family of the musicians. It might be better as a video clip or a concert where you could see the fun people were having participating. posted by madamjujujive at 5:56 AM on November 22, 2007
I saw Special Music by Special People once and they were awesome. posted by dog food sugar at 6:01 AM on November 22, 2007

Oh my. You poor thing.
Here, try the Chicken Dance. Get that in your head over and over and you might just consider turning off the big light. posted by flapjax at midnite at 6:13 AM on November 22, 2007
omg, flapjax, that's evil of ya. Anyway, I prefer the turkey dance - this kid's getting into the groove. posted by madamjujujive at 6:22 AM on November 22, 2007

Just last night I was looking for a particular Thanksgiving song, but came up dry unfortunately. The song is a kindergarten T-day ditty sung by David Alan grier. He used to sing it on the Loveline radio show whenever he appeared around the holidays. The song, combined with Grier's delivery is funny and heartwarming all at once, and is sung from the perspective of the turkey. I think part of the chorus goes:"Gobble gobble gobble gobble gobble gobble gobble I don't like Thanksgiving day."
It'd make a great addition to this thread, if anyone can find it. Subtle hint. posted by Devils Slide at 8:26 AM on November 22, 2007
Devils Slide:
Take a look Here. I guess you can sort through the november appearances of Grier on the show and pull out the song, if it is there. posted by mrzarquon at 9:07 AM on November 22, 2007
I think I'll sift through it later, because they're obviously whole shows (two hours with commercials, and I'm guessing around 1.5 hours w/o) so it'll take a while to find the song in a given show. But I was a fan -- actually perhaps fan is too strong a word, but I did like listening to the show as I did paperwork or worked on the computer -- of the Loveline radio show when Adam was cohosting, so it'll be fun to listen to the shows anyway. Thanks again. posted by Devils Slide at 9:58 AM on November 22, 2007
