The geekiest thing you will see this month is this fan-made comic called The Ten Doctors. Unexpectedly awesome, though!

Note, it cuts off after page 31.

It went to page 72 for me (story's still not over at that point though).

The coolest thing about this is that my brain does all the voices. "Whin thay stairt talkin' a lood o' hogwash, it's bayst just tae agree wit 'em." Ah, Jamie, the Chekov of Doctor Who.

Eeee! This made my night. Love the depiction of the Fourth Doctor - all those scribbles!

This ate an hour of my time...and was worth every minute. What a load of fun!

Keep up the good work, JHarris!

Reminds me of the time travel episode of Tek Jansen...

I found the story was just okay, but that the guy got intra-Doctor interactions exactly right, and the depictions of the various characters charming enough to try a FPP. But I was a little worried about overall suitability. Glad you guys liked it!

The caricature of Tom Cook is wonderful.

But where's the companion with the fur bikini and the dagger?

This is great! Thanks, JHarris.

>>> Oh, she's there. Aged a bit beyond the hides-and-knife get-up, admittedly.

I was so loving it... until he misspelled "ridiculous." But that's why they invented erasers, don't ya' know?

I know I'm not the only one that hopes this ends with Romana and Peri making hot companion-love together.

Yeah, Hartnell had to be the heavy.

...jeez I’m a geek.

Every time I see "Gallifrey" I keep reading it as "Gallimaufrey". (Let's see if anyone gets that reference.)

Steven C. Den Beste,

You're not an IMSA alum by any chance, are you?

So I woke up unexpectedly early this morning, and decided to check MeFi... and spent an hour and a half caught up in this. Thanks a lot! No, really, that was good. I'm not the world's biggest Doctor Who fan, but the characters I didn't recognize right off I could get from the comments. Just trying to figure out who he hasn't brought in yet... there's not many left that I can think of.

Actually, I used to always read "Gallimaufrey" as "Gallifrey" -- but that's because I was a Doctor Who fan before I was an IMSA student.

Pistol. Hope is a curtal dog in some affairs:
Sir John affects thy wife.

Ford. Why, sir, my wife is not young.

Pistol. He wooes both high and low, both rich and poor,
Both young and old, one with another, Ford;
He loves the gallimaufry: Ford, perpend.

Actually, I was thinking of this.

Why did they all defer to the first doctor? How much sense does that make?

Why did they all defer to the first doctor? How much sense does that make?

They all have memories of being the first doctor and are aware that he'll totally kick their asses if they get out of line.

Great post. Thanks.

This is fun, but I think I'll wait for a cbz/cbr file to read it in one go.

I had so thought this post was going to be a reference to this.

I have to link to these drawings, since I think they're awesome, but in September my roommate also took on the task of drawing all ten of the doctors. If you want his commentary on each of the doctors, look at his site.

By no means can I be considered "a big Dr. Who fan." In fact, I had to infer most the references. But they were so intuitive, and enough Dr. Who subculture has made its way through the veil of pop culture and the common unconsciousness that the whole read was more than merely enjoyable: It was inspiring!

To reiterate: Best hour or so I've wasted as a result of an fpp in quite a while.

Usually when someone says something like "some dude made a fanfic comic where all the bad guys and all the good guys all get together in impossible ways to do something really huge" I groan and wait for the inevitable point where someone suspiciously resembling the author becomes the central plot point. but this was very entertaining and the disdain the different doctors had for one another as great. plus, his art style is very nice. I just wish it were inked so it looked cleaner.

also, The Master is so awesome. No matter how many times he regenerates, he's always the dude with the Slicked back hair, goatee and pointy eyebrows.

piratebowling: Overall those are very nice, although I thought #2 looked a little grim and #3 a little off of ol' Pertwee. The others I quite liked.

Although the "site" link actually links back to this thread, maybe the link is malformed?

Oh, shmegegge, each page has a cleaned up color version right below it, although you have to click on it to see it full-size. I think I prefer the pencil version though.

Oh, another self comment I know, but....

One of the nicest things here are the sly references. "Too many Bakers spoils the crust" refers to the fact that there's Tom Baker and Colin Baker there. "So you've decided to show up this time" refers to the fact that in The Five Doctors, Tom Baker wasn't involved and had to be included using footage from an unmade episode. And of course there's the fact that no one remembers #8....
