Kremlin Fried Chicken I was bored so I typed "fried chicken" into Google and this was one of the top choices.

Side note: How come a straighforward parody like this no longer has the power to make me laugh? If something isn't the latest AYBase, BushOrChimp, or a bird getting hit by a fastball, I just kind of smile but don't laugh.

Being desensitized to humor is not good...

it would've been funnier if it sounded slightly more authentic, rather than like something dashed off by a comedy sketch group, which is what it actually is. i'll take the brunching shuttlecocks or, of course, the onion any day. or even that lobster vs magnet thing.

Yeah, these guys seem about a notch or two below Modern Humorist, which in and of itself isn't all that great (although their summer movie preview last year was pretty good).

At least the title made me laugh, even if the actual piece didn't live up to it.

I agree. The title caused a smile. The rest of it quickly doused my interest.

Being desensitized to humor is an odd thing. I was in a sketch comedy "troupe" a few years ago, and looking back on a lot of the material that I laughed my face off about at the time, all I can think is "I cant believe I actually thought that was funny then!"

But ultimately, I think it's made me stronger.

Potsy: I think it's because it's not an incredibly funny parody is why you're not falling about in gales of laughter. Admittedly, I tend to find stuff that's logically short-circuited a lot funnier today, but for parody, it has to be well-done. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be.

Honestly; where are the standards in comedy nowadays?

If it had just been the splash page, it would have worked.

I think it also think it depends on your sense of humor. Mine is sort of stupid, so I find lines like the following rather amusing:

"In honor of the Soviet Premier, Gorbachef's Salad is introduced. It remains our worst-selling item."

Ok, isn't that at least a little bit funny?
