Best history blog awards 2007

The Academy Awards of the history blogosphere have been announced for 2007. The newest edition of the Cliopatria Awards is now out.

Thanks, that's really interesting. This is a great post on the Atlantic slave trade, and I was very pleased to see Errol Morris's wonderful NY Times series on the Crimean War cannonballs rewarded.

I think that the award for In The Middle is extremely well deserved. Despite the apparent niche-nature of the subject matter, I've found it consistently thought-provoking and well-written. The more eyeballs it gets, the better.

Wow, this is really cool. I may need to reconsider some of my opinions about the "blogosphere", though I will never accept that term.

Thats really great - its good to find a crop of blogs that contain truly original writing instead of just reposted pop culture news... not that that isnt what my own blog is! whoops!
