Too much serious talk and stress? Take a break with this nice little distraction. Flight of the Hamsters. How far can you get them to go?

I actually checked to see if it was Flash Friday.

Is Flash Friday some sort of rule?

More a tradition.

I don't know if its the hamsters or the music that makes it so addictive.

The music is driving me nuts, but the hamsters! With their aviator goggles! Are so. Freaking. Cute!

The Kids Next Door are pretty good. The loving use of hamsters and remembrance of hamsters past their prime add so much to every episode. A little bit of feeling goes a long way. I wish they had used hermit crabs a bit more. That smell lasts forever.

It's really silly, but I'm looking forward to the series finale this Sunday. Warburton represents.

I have hated this game every time I have played it. Until this time, where I managed to get the hang of it.

523! woo! WAY goddamn better than my previous totals of like...60. Pfft.

Is it better to hit the hamsters on the way up or on the way down?

What, if anything, does the skateboard do?

So, next game I answered my own question, of course.

The skateboard enables you to skate a while on the ground if you land smoothly. Also I seem to have more success hitting the hamster on the way down. Also the best strategy for me so far is to try and maintain 'level' flight in a certain powerup rich zone. If you go too high the powerups are rare or nonexistant. And trying to recover into level flight after you've started diving too sharply is impossible. So don't go too high if you can help it.

This is embarrassingly difficult for me.

I've been trying hitting him on the way up, but then, like you say, trying for level flight in the middle zone. The balls seem much more useful to me than the skateboard, and the helicopter things that push you up are often downright harmful, they make your angle much too steep.

I hit 606 total a few hours ago and then my game went downhill right after.

I've played similar games, but this is by FAR the most adorable!

game 1: 21 feet... 8 feet.. zero, zero, zero.
game 2: zero. zero. zero. gave up. I can't get the timing down.

While I'm not fond, generally, of blatantly viral flash games like this, and the Kids Next Door cartoon is emblematic of many of the problems with Cartoon Network 2.0 (too much kid pander, too little awesome compared to the old days, not enough Genndy Tartakovsky), at least I got to listen to a couple minutes of "Ride of the Valkyries."

Dang, tough game. My best total was 238. Still haven't figured out the skateboard either.
