Joey: I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough on defense. And he says that lots of times, you don't even run down court. And that you don't really try... except during the playoffs.
Roger Murdock: The hell I don't. LISTEN KID. I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I'm out there busting my buns every night. Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.
Good thing his dad doesn't work there too.. posted by davey_darling at 9:01 AM on February 16, 2008
Kareem is awesome. Never mind the three-peat; he's been an intelligent, articulate, wise and positive voice for as long as I can remember. I guess it's no surprise that his blog should be awesome too. Thanks for posting this. posted by ikkyu2 at 10:04 AM on February 16, 2008

Many years ago, Pixie Anne Wheatley, a ditzy comedy reporter in the vein of Ali G, was interviewing Andrew Gaze of Australian and Seton Hall basketball fame.
In one of her questions to Gaze she referred to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as Abdul Poobah Kareemy Pants.
I'm sorry, son, but you must have him confused with someone else. His name's Roger Murdock, and he's the co-pilot. posted by Saucy Intruder at 1:25 PM on February 16, 2008 [1 favorite]
