I met him a couple of times while working one summer with Boston Neighborhood Network News. He's funny, quick-witted, swears like a sailor, and had the richest tan you'll ever behold.
That guy does one lousy Menino impression. posted by not_on_display at 1:34 PM on February 29, 2008
About a year ago I was out for a few drinks with some friends from work, and the mayah was apparently having a fundraiser on the second floor of the bar. This was a Tuesday night (don't judge) and there weren't that many people at the bar so I could hear his "thank you" speech in the second floor without making out anything he was saying. The thing is, that would probably still be the case if I was standing right next to him.
And definitely a bad Menino impression. posted by preparat at 1:37 PM on February 29, 2008
And he's done vocals for a techno track.
He just lost my vote. posted by rocket88 at 1:37 PM on February 29, 2008
I disagree. He doesn't have the timbre down, but he does the distinctive glottal vowels and the start-stop tempo very well. posted by Mayor Curley at 1:39 PM on February 29, 2008

I think I'm gonna say that all weekend. posted by kuujjuarapik at 1:39 PM on February 29, 2008

Been there, done that... At a tribute to a local Boston Music Scenester, Hizzonah was asked to speak, and the Acme Theatre put a screen up and projected subtitles... I wish I had video. It was a hoot. posted by Gungho at 4:55 PM on February 29, 2008
One of the better Mumbles impersonators is a regular on Boston sports radio WEEI's "Whiner Line." Listen to the Whiney Awards nominations -- including one from the Mayor -- here. Thank you all for comin'! posted by schoolgirl report at 8:47 AM on March 1, 2008
