Whoa. I don't know if you ever had a kaleidosketch... but that was some serious shit for a kid. Little plastic guides with 8,000 holes, pins to hold that shit down, colored pens to sketch out each iteration. It took HOURS to make one good "sketch." Now, I see the online version and I am torn between excitement and utter disgust. Sure, it's great to be able to type in some modifiers and get a cool result, but...all those years...trying to figure out HOW...HOW...to stick those pins into a formica table, while using half dried up pens, while using 3-4 guides per figure...it was an art all to itself..and now, I can just type......it.....in.....

Flagged for the examples shown at myoats not being possible without, you know, actually skill or artistic ability. Wait, I think I just flagged myself.

I wish they had the functionality of an actual kaleidoscope - shifting, blossoming, combining.

Neat to see what others have done. I'm not nearly as talented as most, so that seems less frustrating.

If you like the kaleidosketch thing, you'll probably like Kali, which has a wide choice of symmetries.
