I was just reading about how Neverland is falling to wrack and ruin. Great stuff.

I think this may be the article that nevercalm made mention of.

Fascinating shots, especially the bumper car console. Thanks for sharing.

Now where will parents send their children to be molested?

That's the one, Morrigan, thanks. I was just running out and didn't have the time to run it down.

I love how creepy these are...the whole child fantasy land to get kids all riled up to satisfy MJ's fantasies just makes it bring the willies even more. Looking through the images I kept thinking that I'm sure there were many lights-out-no-moon walks at 3am with little kiddies hand in hand with an adult who just served them some good ole Jesus juice.......

Jesus. *shiver*

It reminds me of something else.

Note: this is creepy. And probably NSFW.

It's much nicer than Fatty Arbuckle's Bottle Collection museum.

Some of the shots, according to the flickr information were exposed for 405 seconds, like this one. Looks like you can start to see the stars rotating. Don't know why he did that, but gives it a creepy kodachrome daylight look.

Don't know why he did that

Ummmm, because it was dark?

MJ: Such soft, soft hands...

It's very sad and creepy.

I predicted a Michael Jackson meltdown here (somewhere) by the end of 2007 and he's still standing. I don't know how he does it, he's some significant fraction of $100 million in debt and he has no future prospects for earnings whatsoever.
posted by lupus_yonderboy at 6:50 PM on March 11, 2008

Hmm, one of the articles claims he's solvent. I thought I'd worked out he had a net negative worth. Well, good if so.
posted by lupus_yonderboy at 6:58 PM on March 11, 2008

The funny thing is he still has a really devoted fanbase (mostly fellow Jehovah's Witnesses, I believe) who are totally in denial about him and will defend him to the death because he's one of "God's Children". I remember having a conversation with a sweet old lady in the Denver airport at the time of his molestation trial and being shocked that when I asked her why she was headed to Los Angeles she replied, "to support Michael".

Anyway, cool pictures. This is going to be one of the most fascinating amusement park ruins ever in a few years.

MJ's wife, Billy Jean Jackson stopped by the ranch last night:

Like Mos Def said:

You can laugh and criticize Michael Jackson if you wanna
But Woody Allen molested and married his stepdaughter
Same press kicking dirt on Michael's name
Show Woody and Soon Yi at the playoff game

I'm confilcted on Michael Jackson. Yes, he probably molested children and that's unforgivable, but he is what he is because he was horribly abused himself. I feel sorry for him. He recorded Off The Wall and Thriller, two of the greatest records of the 20th century, but he'll be remembered instead as the wacky child molester on the Martin Bashir interview. It's like the old joke: "but you bugger ONE SHEEP, and..." Plus, I think he's been made to look worse than he really is. We don't even know for sure if any kids rode the baloney pony, although it's likely, but it could just be he's a weird guy who likes to be around children because he can't relate to adults due to severe arrested development.

"but you bugger ONE SHEEP, and..."

If he'd stopped noncing at Jordy Chandler, he would have almost certainly gotten away with it, free and clear. But he bought off the family, and that made him believe he was untouchable.

So he went right on molesting.

but it could just be he's a weird guy who likes to be around children because he can't relate to adults due to severe arrested development.

Yeah, that's what they said about John Wayne Gacy. Have you never *seen* that video footage of him bouncing Chandler on his knee at a Command Performance with Prince Ranier of Monaco? He gave his mom and his sister unlimited credit cards, packed them off to Italy, sent away the staff and locked himself and Chandler away in a hotel bedroom for two days while mom and sis spent their pimp payment.

Then, when they came out of the room, Jackson sat through a Command Performance, next to the Prince with Chandler on his knee while they wriggled and fondled each other. Ranier looks mortified. Staff tried to tell him how inappropriate his behaviour was, but Jackson was having none of it. He was besotted with his little fuck toy.

Basically, anyone giving Jackson the benefit of the doubt at this stage either doesn't know enough about the story or is wilfully disregarding reality.

I like the comments on the Rolling Stone article, it appears there are un-ironic MJ fans still in existence! They are willing to stand up (on the internet) and be counted as such. Amazing!

As I read on I discover that the ranch is actually for sale. The fans believe this is because he doesn't like it any more. No connection to the trial though, he just doesn't like it! He has the money to keep it on, but he doesn't want to. He is happier continuously moving around with his three children and acting as mad as ever.

What I can't understand is what a man with a $600m+ fortune is doing with a loan or a debt at all. Surely it is a bad idea to be paying interest if you can afford to pay it off? Is this more evidence of his fiscal naivite, or his bankruptcy?

I think he really loved Jordy and the shock of the worlds reaction and losing him has driven MJ through the sane barrier. The one person in his life that he thought he could share everything with has been ripped away from him. In a lonely life with little in the way of affection he thought he had found a soul mate. Not that I think billionaire pop stars buggering fourteen year old boys is the most healthy of relationships.

Here is a joke I found:

A little kid asks his father, "Daddy, is God a man or a woman?"

"Both son. God is both."

After awhile the kid comes again and asks, "Daddy, is God black or white?"

"Both son, both."

"Daddy, does God love children?"

"Yes son, he loves all children."

The child returns a few minutes later and says, "Daddy, is Michael Jackson God?"

And of course I should mention the minimalist Jichael Mackson.

Whatever happened to the giant robotic Michael Jackson that was going to wander the Nevada desert, firing lasers out of its eyes?
Seriously. I know that sentence sounds insane, but I swear it's true.

He was in Nevada coupla weeks ago; he's heading for Pennsylvania after stopping off at Mississippi.

Excuse me, but this is America. What are you, some sort of commie?

So, what's everybody spending their income tax on, instead of investing it or saving it or whatever? Because I'm sure as hell not putting mine towards my mountainous credit card debt, nosirree.

What the RS article didn't mention is that the music catalog that MJ owns is heavily borrowed against. He could still sell his share and pay off his debts, but then he'd have to manage his money like a grown-up.
