Salmonberries are fantastic. I like to think of them as the grapefruit to the raspberry's orange.
There is a Goat Mountain near Vancouver that is adjacent to the more famous Grouse Mountain. They were both named the same way, after the animal that the first party to climb each mountain shot on their respective summits.
I wonder if this nomenclature method applies to this particular Goat Mountain as well. posted by [expletive deleted] at 7:18 PM on April 16, 2008

Goat mountain is indeed splendid in the summertime.
I don't understand this post, but I like it anyway.
Also, salmonberries are overrated, at least compared to the infinitely superior thimbleberry. posted by dan g. at 9:23 PM on April 16, 2008
And I see by cortex's second link that I'll never be able to get the .com for my next band "the tennessee meat goats".
Stuff like that you gotta snap up early. posted by dan g. at 9:26 PM on April 16, 2008
Man, I love salmonberries. Seriously, if you haven't had them, get thee to Alaska.
So delicious in every form. Anyone want to send me some? posted by stvspl at 10:06 PM on April 16, 2008

Is there a day when salmonberries or blueberries rule? Or gooseberries or thimbleberries? Does anyone serve them jelled or relished with turkey? I think not. posted by Cranberry at 2:57 PM on April 17, 2008
Says the sell-out. Seriously, "craisins"?!?! How drunk were you when you agreed to that one? posted by Salmonberry at 9:00 PM on April 19, 2008
