I got my husband, whose grandfather was born in France and who he himself lived in France for many years, to translate the stuff on the sidebar:

point de vue

il n'y a pas d'art érotique. Il n'y a que l'art. Il peut bien sûr être érotique. Question de point de vue... sur l'art.

English translation:

Point of view

It’s not erotic art. It’s only art. It could well be erotic. It’s a question of point of view…. On the art.

avertissement
D'accord, ce blog investit le champ artistique... Néanmoins, certains billets pourraient être fort explicites suivant les tribulations de l'auteur. Vous voilà prévenus.

English translation:

Warning

Of course, this blog gives value to the artistic field, nonetheless, certain pictures could be strongly explicit following unhappy experiences of the author/artist. You are warned.

(so they have their own NSFW right there on the sidebar)

Great site, interesting pics, merci buttercups.

How can it be French erotica without feeelthy postcards?

No offense to your hubby, Marie, but he's forgotten a lot of his French.

il n'y a pas d'art érotique. Il n'y a que l'art.

It’s not erotic art. It’s only art.

No, it means "There is no (such thing as) erotic art. There is only art."

D'accord, ce blog investit le champ artistique... Néanmoins, certains billets pourraient être fort explicites suivant les tribulations de l'auteur. Vous voilà prévenus.

"OK, this blog invests/besieges/occupies the field of art... Nevertheless, certain posts could be extremely explicit according to the trials and tribulations of the author. Consider yourself warned."

It's not entirely clear to me how exactly investir is being used, but French prose is often full of impressive-sounding words that can't be pinned down if you descend from the heights of rhetoric to the plains of plain meaning.

Languagehat, you are entirely correct: he has forgotten a lot. He knew what it meant in his head, but he had trouble putting it into English! Merci!

Gotta love French art! Some random reactions (NSFW):

-- I'd love to have a mini-lion brush my balls with his tail.
-- Never seen an orgy look like so much melancholy work.
-- One guy with a heroic amount of cum, or a football team doing some male bonding?

"Occupies" is right.

So basically what you're saying is, if I fap to this, I'm a lowbrow. Thanks for nothing.
