Dear Roland-Deese Productions,

Just like your instructions advised, I beleive I have seen all signs of my ghost. I'm thinking of moving out of my apartment, it's now haunted. The Ghost Bottle is a very entertaining novelty!

I didn't believe in ghosts until I watched an episode of Ghost Hunters on SciFi; someone's flashlight totally flickered and everyone ran away. It was extreme. These guys are playing with fire and they're gonna get burnt.

I'd like to perform a scientific study on these, testing two questions:
- Do people opening jars lose more keys than people not opening jars?
- Is opening the jar when someone doesn't know capable of producing the same mysterious effects?

DAMN! I was seriously going to put this up on ebay, but mine was better. You see, I was going to have a good spirit inside a bottle, and that bottle would be wholly contained within a bigger bottle. The catch? The big bottle contains an evil spirit. How do you get the good spirit out without also releasing the evil spirit? Fuck if I know, but I was really interested to see how much I'd get for it. I really need to stop procrastinating with this stuff and get it done.

I just watched Ghost Hunters for the first time last night and was not convinced. I did like the one little jumpy guy who they pay to do scary things, though. I was a very talkative watcher. "That's totally just a mouse!" "That thermal image is crap!"

Robert Louis Stevenson's stories are generally terrific. His time spent in Hawaii and Samoa and his fascinating wife and step-daughter really make him and them worth a full blown FPP on his own.

Speaking of ghosts, the "previously" link led me to this 5-year-old (almost to the day) metatalk thread, wherein there is much bemoaning of metafilter memes that "[were] getting tired".

e.g.

In general, people use "-filter", or "metafilter: _____", or "this _____, it vibrates?" or "I for one welcome our _______ overlords" when they have no ability, either temporarily or chronically, to contribute anything worthwhile to the discussion.
