Also, as much of a problem as I have with aspects of many organized religions, I think that it's important to distinguish between more cult-like belief systems like Scientology and other organized religions.) If you think something is ridiculous and many people disagree, you really need to break down why you think it is ridiculous. Just repeating the ridiculous claim and saying "isn't that ridiculous" doesn't really carry much heft as far as argumentation goes. That's the whole reason the satire was written.
a boob job for your brainwould be something that we shouldn't take seriously. Though you're probably right that many transhumanists find reasons to believe in the singularity because its existence implies the existence of an alternative to death. That doesn't actually negate their arguments, however.
