Happy 100th Birthday to SOS.“Send SOS,” one of the Titanic’s radio operators supposedly said to another after the famous ship struck that infamous iceberg. “It’s the new call and besides this may be your last chance to send it.”
That “new call” is 100 years old today... (via the J-Walk blog) posted by caddis (27 comments total)

But will J-Walk still be blogging in one hundred years - that's the question. Is he still doing his daily dose of LOLXTIANS and obscure banjo playing Alaskan radio station shtick? I used to love it. posted by Nick Verstayne at 12:43 PM on July 1, 2008
Wasn't there a Bloodhound Gang episode where they kept getting a - - - . . . - - - signal, and the they wondered why someone was sending "Bear bear bear" in Spanish over and over, until one gang member figured out it was a distress call, and the sender had their dits and dots reversed? "Oso oso oso!" Ah, the formative television of my youth. Good times. posted by steef at 12:55 PM on July 1, 2008 [1 favorite]

Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
