International Caps

In 1886, Association Football adopted a new tradition: "That all players taking part for England in future international matches be presented with a white silk cap with red rose embroidered on the front. These to be termed International Caps."

I totally forgot about that All-Caps malarkey and took you for a shared anorak for footie memorabilia! I feel cheated, probably unjustly as it's my own fault really, like an England player on the plane home early from yet another failed international championship.
It's a shame they stopped handing out comedy moustaches with international caps, despite Graham Souness's bold attempt at a revival. They complimented the tassel so nicely.

Caps were a real improvement on the top hats they forced players to wear during the game, and the mortar board the captain had to wear. Oh, the good old days!

FOR SERIOUS THOUGH, DO THEY STILL GIVE EVERYONE AN ACTUAL CAP? I IMAGINE BECKS HAVING A CLOSET SOMEWHERE THAT HE JUST THROWS THEM IN AFTER HE GETS HOME FROM THE GAME AND SHUTS DOWN HIS ANDROID WIFE.
