Don't forget the Brazilian 1980s bands too:

Soda Stereo w/ Andrea Echeverri (Atericiopelodas)
(A large proportion of my rock en español enthusiasm is in fact nothing but a huge crush on Andrea Echeverri.)

Not quite the 80s, (1992, actually), but still necessary:

More proof that the 90s, in Mexico, was still the 80s:

Héroes del Silencio "Avalancha" is one of my fave tracks on Guitar Hero 3. I would never have heard of them otherwise.

Héroes del Silencio's "Senderos de Traición" is one of the few albums still in my playlist after 18 years (damn, getting old ;) )

Héroes del Silencio's - Entre Dos Tierras from that album. I saw them in 93 in Spain, with the best lasershow I've seen up till now

Miguel Bosé ... ay bendito ... the things I would let that man do to me. I actually stalked him in the Louvre about 12-15 years ago. He was with his sister playing babysitter to his niece and I was just absolutely speechless. The man is perfection and with that, I give you theobligatory Bosé sexy-time song.
BTW this post needs more Beto Cuevas and La Ley
Scary how influential was Duran Duran :P
