Exactly 101 years ago today, Oran Thadeus Page was born in Dallas. Hot Lips Page was one of the greatest jazz trumpet players to ever play, and a fine singer as well. That is all.

Some recordings of his music are here, including a biography that came out last year.

Also, a bit of amazing trivia, the YT clip in the FPP marked "singer as well" is from a record (early 1940s?) that features pianist Hank Jones. Hank Jones is still alive, having turned 90 last year.
