Man, the economy must have taken it's toll on Rush. Living in a trash can... posted by fontophilic at 11:46 AM on February 8
That movie was my favorite as a child, I now show it to my nephew. I still watch my original VHS copy, but I see that Amazon has the DVD for $7. Time to upgrade. posted by MaritaCov at 11:50 AM on February 8
Great link, but not really new...this has been on my bookmarks for a loooong time now, and I have Follow That Bird on my AppleTV. I grew up on Sesame Street. posted by sjuhawk31 at 12:11 PM on February 8

That can't be Rush. He wouldn't fit. (Yes, I know he lost weight. I'm talking about his head.) posted by WCityMike at 12:12 PM on February 8
I have watched this movie easily five times since Christmas. My son adores it. And yeah, it's actually pretty damn good. Not as witty or punny as the Muppet Movie, but really funny.
That's actually one of the best things about being a father to a toddler. I have fallen in love with the Muppets and Mister Rogers all over again, and you appreciate it all on a whole new level as an adult. Unfortunately my local PBS station has gone dark for the month, but the DVDs get us by. posted by middleclasstool at 12:17 PM on February 8
I haven't seen this since I was little. Thanks. My sister and I used to love Follow That Bird, but then our younger sister came along and she hated the part where Big Bird is blue so much that we had to stop watching the movie altogether. I bet it'd be fun to watch now...hmm. posted by crinklebat at 12:32 PM on February 8
I think my sister and I actually broke our VHS copy of Follow That Bird because we watched it so many times. posted by Rangeboy at 12:32 PM on February 8
I was kinda hoping that the Grouch would give us the bird. posted by captainsohler at 12:40 PM on February 8
I love this movie, although it's deeply weird that the message is that social workers are meddling fools who tear families apart - the usual team of child psychology consultants must have called in sick that week. my sister and I still sing this song all the time because it is beautiful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD-dA300vNA posted by moxiedoll at 4:15 PM on February 8
Okay, so I did audibly gasp when I read the FPP text. I loved this movie so much as a kid.
My mom and I still make "TWO TOSSED SALADS" jokes. I would love to open the Don't Drop Inn. posted by Tesseractive at 5:05 PM on February 8 [1 favorite]
