The Music of the Internet? "This site converts the IP address of your computer to music... The sound is created online from the four nodes of your IP address with a fractal composition program which reveals The Music in the Numbers..."
Apparently I'm even hipper than I thought... sounds like Radiohead

the point is, elle, that everyone's will sound different. yours probably did sound like bjork. when i put in the domain for one of my sites, it sounded more like--i don't know--a bad MIDI of the Cure or something.

I'm kinda disappointed that the compositions use the time to make the tune, which means I can't listen to the same melody twice.

Yeah, I got something very Residents-sounding here too. Although maybe it sounds more like a Danny Elfman movie score crossed with Morphine.

Mine sounded like my IP address composed with a fractal algorithm.

If you like this, try the Metamath Music page which has musical interpretations of low-level proofs of mathematical theorems, such as the resolution to Russel's Paradox (music) and the associative law for function composition.(music)
Admittedly, it doesn't sound as neat as the web page thing.

no, actually...Quicktime has some issues with IE 6beta...at least that was why it locked for me....say what you will, I think this thing is absolutely stupid. The fact that it sounded like an awful midi file that some 5th grader will load on his geocities account did it for me. Blah...

Mine sounded like the factory music in every Warner Brothers cartoon involving an assembly line, then switched to someone trying to get a modem connection while the choir practiced in the abbey. Oh, it's started again, this time with Eno at the kalimba warehouse.

I've got something that sounds rather like the background sounds of SimCity 2000. Oh, for joy.

Excellent. Apparently my IP address is the completion music for 'Ghouls & Ghosts' (Megadrive/Genesis version). This makes me a happy man indeed.
www.metafilter.com, on the other hand, consistently turns out to be grand, sweeping and orchestral. How fitting.

Look for The Carl Stalling Project, which has all of the best Stalling cartoon music. That particular tune is called Powerhouse.
