Karaoke Party

Karaoke Party.A web-based karaoke game that lets you pick a song, sing it with backing instrumental and vocals, track whether or not you're singing the right note at the right time, and gives you points if you do.

Requires registering for a free account, which can be upgraded to "star" status. The first day you register you have access to all the songs, but after that they lock up and you need "star" status to access some of them. While many of their most popular songs are locked, there's still lots of free songs to sing.

Sounds like SingStar on the PS2, which is one of my sister's guilty pleasures.

It's fun, but I think it could be more gratifying as for how the scoring goes. As in, "YOU SUCK!" or, "YOU'RE AWESOME!" rather than an anticlimactic score bar.

Needs way more 80s stuff for me to be interested.

Where's the part about how they secretly record your terrible performance and then post it for the world to mock and pass around like a communal sponge?

That's what I was worried about. I'm paranoid like that!

"The first day you register you have access to all the songs" -- hmm, I registered, but it's still not giving me access to the Star songs.
