I first heard the word Crunk used bit on Conan O'Brien during his first year in a bit where he wanted to make up his own swear word. The guest that night was Ice-T, and Conan joked that if he could get Ice T to use the word, then it would get street cred. I didn't start hearing the word in hip hop until after that.
