From their facebook note (where I was hunting for information about why Jeff and Celeste might be important, interesting, or timely): "Jeff's twist on classic Disney Princesses is making him an internet sensation! Click here to see more unsolicited, well-deserved snaps for his genius: [link to an article titled "6 Dark Remakes Starring Disney Princesses] In related news, our blog has received more hits than ever! Thanks for spreading the good word. :)" posted by Houstonian at 9:54 AM on September 12, 2009
'kay, I genuinely want to read the Witch Files when he finishes it. Also, it almost but not quite goes without saying that the princesses are awesome. posted by Caduceus at 10:09 AM on September 12, 2009
I didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure out who he was. I just liked the art and saw it had never been brought up here.
A lot of times when I spend any time reading about an artist, I kind of get put of by what's written.
There were a lot of neat things linked off his page or the Jeff and Celeste site. Like this: Blue Blood Red. [some content slightly NSFW]
I'm not a Disney fan, but I would be if more of there stuff was done alone the lines of these two people. posted by cjorgensen at 10:56 AM on September 12, 2009
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound negative about the post. It's a good one, but I needed more context around/about what I was looking at, as I'm not a comic connoisseur and I don't know much about comics, honestly. I was sharing the links because I thought it might help someone else, if they are like me, appreciate the work better. posted by Houstonian at 11:14 AM on September 12, 2009
Houstonian, I didn't take your comment negatively. I was just explaining why I am more interested in the images than the person creating them. It is amazing to me how prolific this guy seems.
And thanks for the links. I missed the faccebook page.
And, Joseph Gurl, Evidently I lack the mechanisms by which to appreciate your comment. Maybe go spend some time somewhere you can appreciate. posted by cjorgensen at 9:53 AM on September 13, 2009
