Voca People...

aliens, planet Voca, music The Voca people are 8 friendly aliens from the planet Voca, a musical planet that has no verbal communication but use vocal expressions only. They have heard the music from earth for decades now and with their imitation abilities they have decided to pay a one evening tribute to humanity and to perform the songs they love as musical- gratitude. And, for your continued enjoyment, a more.... because, sometimes we take things way too seriously around here!

After watching the first clip, I had an inkling that these singers had a lot of help in post-production. The live video thoroughly confirmed that suspicion.

Just like Star Wars and Star Trek fan films—here's always the one guy who refuses to shave off his beard.

I used to hate Neil deGrasse Tyson, I found his presentation to be somehow disingenuous, but I've grown to respect, if not like him. He's clearly very dedicated to bringing science, and astronomy in particular, to the masses. After seeing his role in the second video, I realize that I feel a bit sorry to him because he is so dedicated to his work that when he gets a call to come on a daytime talk show to discuss a made up planet, he does it. Simply so he can throw in a little fact: we've discovered hundreds of planets outside our solar system. I wouldn't wish daytime TV on my worst enemy.

I just hope Robert Ballard can avoid getting roped into a discussion about talking sponges and their dwellings.

Disingenuous how? I don't hate him per se but I do hate listening to him because he's a terrible public speaker.

As for the Vocae: Blue Man meets Swingles and I claim my pentatonic scale.

I'm just sad they didn't bring in Jack Horkheimer as the astronomical expert.
