Our own aparrish participated in this, with a game in which you play a robot who tries to convince people you've passed the Turing Test. posted by brina at 7:18 PM on January 31, 2010

Couldn't you just blow into a cheap microphone enough for it to overload for the same effect? It doesn't seem there is any sort of advanced anger detection algorithm at work here. posted by Burhanistan at 7:57 PM on January 31, 2010
That is the funniest thing I've seen in weeks. posted by danb at 8:07 PM on January 31, 2010

Wouldn't be nearly as cathartic, I'd imagine. posted by axiom at 8:16 PM on January 31, 2010

We should take this link to MetaTalk during a flameout, challenge everyone in the thread to play, and thus have MetaFilter take over the entire high score board. posted by Hardcore Poser at 8:38 PM on January 31, 2010 [4 favorites]
It's funny, but it's also interesting that no one has used a sound *input* mechanic until now. posted by DU at 6:18 AM on February 1, 2010

DU, what about Karaoke Revolution? posted by LogicalDash at 12:22 PM on February 1, 2010
That totally cracked me up.
It reminds of a multiplayer minigame included with the DS game Rub Rabbits, where you have to pass the DS around performing simple actions like "Hold A and Left", or "Make noise and touch the screen." You have to continue doing your thing until the next person has satisfied their conditions.
In practice what this means is that you end up with a ring of people all screaming and clasping at the DS like angry, confused monkeys. posted by lucidium at 5:08 PM on February 1, 2010
