Get your Atari 2600 fix on the go! With six models, it beats the Game Boy Advance by a mile! Unfortunately, they're handmade and the backlog is fifty units long, so more impatient retro-gamers might want to stick with a Sega Nomad.

after being MeFi'd, the backup will probably jump a couple hundred.

A much more practical solution may just to buy a PocketPC handheld, and then run emulation on it.

Not nearly as much "retro" street cred, but it seems a lot more appealing to me. Not to mention you can fit hundreds of games on even a small memory card.

Howzabout a pirate NES clone, the GameAxe?

Ah, but the portable 2600 is built from actual Atari 2600 hardware, raising the geek appeal by an order of magnitude... (apparently the Atari 2600, along with the NES and SNES can be run straight off of a 9 volt battery)

Ahhh the VCS...I remember when I first found this link. That was about a year ago. Now they are actually gonna sell them? Damn! I remember when I was actually considering going out and trying to build one of these myself, but now...hmmmm maybe....

This is incredibly cool. On a par with Vinyl Video. Though I lack the technical skill to build one of my own, I'm seriously considering an investment.

There's something most cool about building a device that the natural progression of technology somehow skipped over. Beautiful, really.
