I thought I had kept those voices inside my head. Sorry about that.

Yeah, this is one Knotts movie in the pantheon. Probably a good post to be made about it somehow.

Own it. Love it. Now want to watch it again.

God, I miss Don Knotts. I think he needs to be forgotten and then rediscovered for people to remember how incredibly funny he was.

At least link to the whole thing.

And then go ahead and watch The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.

Clips from this movie are used in one of the Boom-chicka-boom-boom tracks. I'm on a iPod, and it's a major pita to dig up a link, alas.

I think the rock band is Orange Colored Sky, which appeared in the movie Ghost World as well.

I think the 1960s might be the single worst decade in the history of motion picture comedy. Don Knotts, Jerry Lewis, that unfuckingbearable first Casino Royale. Relentlessly winking and mugging, broader than the Grand Canyon. The whole decade is like a hack comic blowing a wet raspberry right in your face and firing up his mechanical twirling bow tie.

I like how in the post-hipster-irony world this concept kind of makes sense.

Also, I'm a sucker for some '56 Telecaster.

Three's Company should have named Knott's character Ralph 'Peacock' in honour of this.

I've heard the Martinibomb song that takes most of its samples from this film. i was hoping they had just cleverly edited lines from Knott's movies ... but no, now the mystery is gone...

When you're smokin' that Mary Jane, everything seems funny.

Not that weak shit you kids smoke today neither.

That's the one I grew up on not_on_display. I was just thinking that Limpet's call would make a pretty good ringtone :)

I thought this might be an outtake from a bio, because I understand that Don Knotts, in real life, had no trouble with the ladies -- married three times, anyway. As hard as that is to believe, I personally have been in love with goofy big-nosed fellas, so I suppose he had his charms if you met him.

Don Knotts is the bomb. Also, when I was a kid, I got him confused with Knott's Berry Farm. I thought he ran the place.

Wakka Chikka Wakka Chikka, "This CD represents 17 individual artists' interpretations of the 'Wakka Chikka Wakka Chikka'; each providing their own unique cultural and geographic spin on the vibe that is "Wakka Chikka Wakka Chikka'" — specifically Martini Bomb's The Love God.

...that unfuckingbearable first Casino Royale...

I have no idea how that movie even got made. And yet, from then until now:
"Hey, Peter Sellers and Woody Allen are in it! This movie should be great!"

EIGHT HOURS LATER

"Oh God. Make it stop. No more psychedelic dance sequences. Is it even half over yet? No? Oh God."

I saw his Lear at the Old Vic in '68. Ken Berry played Kent. Changed my life.

Yeah, me too. But at some point in my childhood, I also thought it was Knots Berry Farm, so-named because of roller coasters with twists and turns that kind of looked knot-esque.

I ws stunned by the misogyny of Casino Royale. I regret seeing half of it.

Oh, god. Those radio ads. Incessant. Weekly, daily hourly...."Don Knotts...The Love God???!!!!" Over and over and over. It was a horrible time to be a kid stuck in the car with your mom, having to listen to her radio. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
