March of the tweeps

Twitter Parade: Icons happily march across your screen following the topic (or Twitter account) of your choice. In Flash with sound.

The site's mostly in Japanese but should be reasonably easy to figure out: Enter a Twitter ID or click on Keyword and enter one (it doesn't have to be a hashtag), and it leads a parade while happy music plays. Random word balloons will pop up, but if you click on an icon, you can see their latest tweet and a two-item menu labeled in Japanese (The first item starts a new parade in that icon's honor, the second item pauses the parade and opens a new window with that user's Twitter page).

Is that music randomly generated? I think that's the coolest part of the whole thing.

mrgrimm, at least your progress was increasing. Mine went 1% ... 2% ... 3% ... 1% ... 0%. Too slow; didn't load.

Someone needs to make a shoddy American knockoff to deal with these slow load times.

Mine's loaded, but it's taking even longer to load the twitter account I choose. Anyone want to translate the "popular" ones it lists?

Sorry for the slowness. The site's getting slammed. It's worth the wait if you can get in, though.

Finally! Twitter the way it was meant to be seen!

This demands a Wii app.

And when it loads, it's pretty cool!

I think it overloads if I choose something too popular. It's been loading tweets about Lady Gaga for five minutes now.

Mccarty.tim, it's taking all my restraint not to change the It's to a I've in your last comment.

If it makes you feel better, I looked at Taters first.

That said, the twitterverse has the most inane thoughts possible on Lady Gaga. Inane even for Twitter. Let's see how it feels about folk group Dala...

Aw, that's sad. Dalagirls had no followers in the parade. Even though they have like 761 on their Twitter page.

How exactly does this thinger work? Does it have to be people who recently tweeted about a person?

But what does it think of Justin Bieber?

I wanted to see the right wings grariness re: Miss America being a Muslim, so I typed in "Islam." It's been loading for about 10 minutes.

I can't wait to see the happy Tea Party Parade!

Yep, turns out the TCOT crowd aren't so happy that a brown person won Miss USA.

This is like a Twitter sourced Mii parade. I just wanna grab one of them with my Wiimote and throw them across the screen.

Oh for the sweet love of god do not put in "cat videos" unless you want a deluge of dancing porn spam bots.

I've been having a lot of fun entering k-pop idol group names (e.g. "tohoshinki", "superjunior" ...)
